Can anyone help me? I'm desperate!?

I'm planning on going to a friend's birthday celebration at a pub on Holloway Road. I live in Wembley, and it finishes at 4am.

How could I get home using London Transport at that time? Is it even possible?

  1. Look it up! There are night buses from Holloway Road to Trafalgar Square (such as the N29), and you can usually get to pretty much anywhere in London from there.

  2. Hi, Try the TFL website, they have a route  journey planing section or phone 020 7222 1243 for help with any transport questions

  3. If you want to use London Transport rather than a cab at that time of night, you're on the bus network.

It'd help to know whereabouts on the Holloway Road you're going to be -- it's a very long road. And also which bit of Wembley you need to get to -- since you don't say, I'm assuming Wembley Central.

I've given two possible routes: one from each end of the Holloway Road. Both involve changing buses ... you really may be better off booking a cab, especially if you can share one with a friend.

Still, here are your night-bus adventures... =)

If you're down at the Holloway Station end of Holloway Road, then you need to catch a 271 bus heading for Liverpool Street. You change at Old Street and catch the 205 bus to Regent's Park station.

From here, the N18 will take you back to Wembley Central.

If you're towards the Archway end of the Holloway Road, you start with the all-night 134 route from Archway station (final destination Tottenham Court Road station).

Hop off at Warren Street and catch either the 205 or the 27 to Regent's Park station, where you're on the same N18 route as above.

Journey time in both cases is about an hour.

You can use the journey planner at http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ to tailor your route yourself; it's very straightforward -- you can even use postcodes as your start and end points.

Good luck and hope the party's brilliant.

  4. I could get you the number for traveline in london...

I work at traveline south yorkshire and we have numbers for all of them.

  5. you cant. just take a cab.

  6. Just take the night bus.  Go to tfl journey planner (just type tfl journeyplanner into google) and it will tell you which bus.

  7. Trains begin at 5:30. Liverpool street station has a blinding 24 hour cafe. Find one around holloway and be careful.

  8. the Bakerloo line doesn't really get started till around 6.00 a.m. ... so either you struggle home on the night buses ... or you share a taxi with some others who live in your direction ... or you arrange to crash out with some friends who live near to where the birthday party is

personally I'd put some effort into finding a friend who lives nearby and who would let me crash out ... after a great party who wants to spend hours getting home in the early hours of the morning
