  1. 1- A is definitely included in the listed characteristics of autisim in the current version of IDEA. Not postive if the 1990 version had that phrase, too!

    2- It could be A, C, or D!  Splinter skills seems wrong because it is an area of genius or knowledge for them so it would more likely help them be placed in a less restricted setting. The other three are a toss up if you ask me! Hopefully you have a text book to review to see what the answer might be.

    3- Definitely A- the term autism is too vague. Just because a student does not outwardly exhibit social skill deficits does not mean that those deficits do not exist. Some have learned to control them and you will never see them unless the child is VERY UPSET!

    Please note, Autism is a fad diagnosis. It is used without restraint to label all kinds of behavior. In the 70's, everyone was dyslexic. In the 80's everyone was ADD/ADHD. In the nineties, everyone was bi-polar. Now, we use autism. How sad. Can't wait til the next fad
