hello. we just installed a 12ft round 54inch high swimming pool and I'm having trouble figuring out how many gallons it is. It's very important that I know this because I have to add chemicals depending upon how many gallons it is. hard to belive but this infomation did not come with the pool. I'd be grateful for any assistance you can offer

  1. Volume  = Pi * R^2 * H

    Pi = 22/7 = 3.1415926

    R = 6ft

    R^2 = 36ft

    H = 4.5ft

    Volume  will be in cubic ft.

    There are 7.5 gallons per cubic foot.

    So about 3800 gallons

  2. V = Pi * r^2 * h

    Pi = 3.1415926

    r = 6ft

    r^2  = 36ft

    h = 4.5ft

    V will be in cubic ft.

    There are 7.5 gallons per cubic foot.

    So about 3800 gallons

  3. 1 cubic foot = 7.5 US Gallons.

    Your pool is 3.14*6*6*4.5 = 509 cubic feet

    509 cubic feet * 7.5 = 3800 gallons

  4. Multiply diameter x diameter x depth of water x 5.9.  Is the water 4 feet deep and side of pool is 54 inches high?  If so, the formula would be:

    12 x 12 x 4 x 5.9 = 3398 gallons.

    If the depth of the water is actually 54 inches, do the math again using 4.5 instead of 4 for depth of water.
