Can anyone help me come up with a research question for my essay?

The subject my essay is in is ECONOMICS

And the topic is THE ECONOMIC BURDEN OF MALARIA

My previous research question was "Analyze the direct and indirect costs of malaria in the economic development and growth of Chad"

However, my advisor told me that:

1. This question was too broad (there are too many sub topics in economic growth and development)

2. I have to make it "more specific"

I really am having a lot of trouble coming up with a new essay topic to be honest. I know a lot about economics just not that much about the "economic burden of malaria." Also, I have decided to not use Chad as a country to focus on, but rather Sudan because I do often visit Sudan a lot and I could research things directly for my essay and experiment or survey using select control groups I could find.

Pick some quantifiable measure of economic development, for example  labor force participation,  or productivity,    etc than  can be effected by ill health.
