I need to find 5 activities that would be creative for Preschool age children. Puppets and Prop Boxes can be included in the five activities.

  1. A "fix it" prop box that contains play (or real) tools and broken appliances that the children can pretend to fix. Just be careful not to include anything sharp :)

  2. Get your hands on boxes of different sizes: refrigerator boxes, shipping boxes, shoe boxes...Kids can make amazing things out of these. If you give them some crayons, paste, and construction paper they can design a million things. If you wanted it to be theme based you could read them a story about a fire truck, dump truck, house, building, or whatever else they might see when they look at your boxes. Let them lead the construction process and don't forget to take pictures of their work.

    Check out this website.

  4. Firefighting - then you can have raincoats and fire hats out - sweeper hoses for hoses - refrigerator box that they decorate for a fire truck - phones and computers to report and practice 911.

Butterflies - order a butterfly kit and watch the caterpillars turn into a chrysalis and butterfly - the creative part can come in by making their own butterflies - their own caterpillars and their own books illustrating the cycle.

Nutrition - make placemats where they can cut out the food out of magazines - taste different foods and have them color a smiley face or a frowny face depending on whether they like it or not.

Winter - paint with ice cubes on dry tempera paint - make snowmen out of fluffy shaving cream and glue, embellish with whatever they want - put real snow in your sensory table.

Act out a story - Caps for Sale is a great one -have everyone bring a hat along with them to school and act out the story.

Three little bears is always fun.

    Going on a bear hunt.

Have fun -I could go on and on - but I won't!
