Can anyone help me download the videos from my camera to my computer and then to youtube?

1 only made 1 video and it has 400MB already. It was a 3 min video. I tried to copy it from my camera to my computer and it won't let me. My video is in .avi format. Is this the reason why? How can I minimize the MB or change the format?

You don't say what kind of camcorder you have or if you have ever been able to download video, but if your camcorder is a mini dv (cassette) Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, your PC probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly brand new) don't come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder.

Once you download your video, you can use some editing software to edit your video. not sure why your 3 minute video is 400 mg.
