Question:

Can anyone help me estimate the value of my antique blanket trunk?

My Great-Grandfather made a simple blanket trunk for my Great-Grandmother in 1908. They then gave the trunk to their oldest child( my Grandfather) who put legs and a new hinge on the lid in the 50's. He gave the trunk to my father, and my dad refinished it and updated the handles and added locks to the drawers. I recently had it shipped to me cross country, and UPS gave it back in splinters and missing chunks out of some of the 4" thick frame beams. Can you help appraise this for me? I can email pictures of it from before.

  1. Priceless, it's a family heirloom.

  2. You may want to email some experts for appraisal.
