I've been looking for a cheap, reasonably priced Go set so that I can learn and practice the game. I would play online, but I'm uncomfortable with the prospect when I'm such a beginner.

I want a 19x19 board as opposed to the 9x9 or 13x13, so that I don't have to buy another board later on. A double-sided board is okay, but a vinal one is not. I would also prefer that the stones be double-convex instead of single.

  1. A better solution might be to get a computer program that lets you play Go.  I made my own Go board out of paper and pennies.  I spray painted the pennies white and black.  It turned out OK, but when I showed it to my Chinese friends they thought it was funny because I used pennies.  They said I should have used Chinese coins because the value is less.

I think Books a Million and Barnes and Nobles sells Go sets.
