Hmm... do you mean you want the controller hardware, or do you mean you need the driver?  The only place to get the hardware is probably ebay.  But if you want the driver, then the first thing to do is go to Windows update, and look for a hardware update.  If it doesn't appear, then disable the controller, and then check WU again.  This usually makes it appear because "It looks disabled on your system."

If neither of those works, then you need to get it from the manufacturer of your laptop.  Either on something like a "restore CD" or from their website.  For example if it was dell, you'ld go to:

Put in your model number and operating system, and you should see the list of available drivers for your laptop.

It's possible that you need the so-called "chipset" driver instead of the audio driver.  So it may be confusing to find.  It can't hurt to reload your chipset driver, but make sure it's the right one, because if it's the wrong one, you'll get constant crashes.
