Backstory:

There's a bird that starts calling around dawn (I think I've heard it in other parts of the day too), and the other day I was listening to it and noticed it's pattern resembles that of the Sun's Song from The Legend of Zelda, which is part of the melody that plays at dawn in those games. Thinking there might be a connection I started looking through bird call websites but couldn't find it.

The Call:

The bird's call goes like "tooweet, tooweet, luklukluklukluk" a pause, then repeats. The "tooweet" parts start on a lower note then go to a higher one.

  1. Lol.. sounds like a cardinal to me :)

Here's some sites that have the song:

    http://www.all-birds.com/Northern-Cardin...

    http://www.birds.cornell.edu/BOW/norcar/

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pNQ3as6wDM

    Hope that helps.

  2. I agree with Northern Cardinal, though you're probably on the very edge of their range.

    Or Eastern Towhee?

Could get some binoculars and try to track it down..
