Question:

Can anyone help me identify this spider?

i dont know much about spiders and i wanted to find out whether this one was dangerous or not. it has metallic green fangs and its rear end is about the size of a popcorn kernel. i found it crawling around in my room. heres some pics i took of it (its dead btw):

  1. Its a jumping spider. They are dangerous to insects, not humans. The bite might cause mild skin reaction similar to a mosquito bite. They are the most intelligent spider and will respond to a feeding schedule. Current studies are being done on the porche spider and memory.


  2. Sorry could not get the pics, But that sound more like a crab Spider, It is quite rare to find them in your house but still possible. Not dangerous to mammals but to other insects they are deadly. They are in the same family as the jumping spider and they are able to jump small distances but not as well as the jumping spider.

  3. Definitely a jumping spider, probably species /Eris floridana/.  She looks gravid too (full of eggs) with the size of the abdomen.
