I hate reading books, newspapers anything!

I pick up a newspaper and just flip through it, or i start reading a book and never finish it.

Even if i read it i lose focus after sometime and forget what i have read!

If you ask me what i read in a book after a few days i wont remember much.

How do i change this habit, i am 26 years old now and i really need to keep myself informed.

Please if anyone can give me tried and tested tips on how to improve my reading skills it will be a big help!

Thanks in advance!

  1. Hiyah!here are some tips to develop your reading habits

1.You can set a special goal on why you want to read that certain literature...

2.Keep asking questions about how the story(if it's a story) will end out to keep you interested.

3.and, start reading books with great pics,I know it kinda sounds elementary but it'll  help you develop more interest for the reading material if you see illustrations

4.and lastly....pick a reading material which you think in the first place is interesting....

    Hope this helps!

  2. You could start out by spending five minutes a day reading.  This could be the newspaper, magazine or a book....but spend the whole five minutes reading.  Set a timer to help you.  Sit in a comfy place, turn off the TV, radio, and other distractions.

After awhile increase this to ten minutes....keep increasing.

Most elementary school age children are expected to read 15-60 minutes of silent reading. I have used this technique with a group of 5th graders.

Make sure what your reading is interesting to you.
