Since you have access to a computer, it may be easiest to shop online.  If India is anything like America, finding a thong will be almost impossible in a retail store and finding a brief will also be difficult and most likely only black.  Check out speedo.com, Aussiebum.com and other.  Prices will vary from US $15- $50.  You can also try e-bay and get perhaps get a better deal.
