  1. That's what you need to watch out for because if he has a good season then the old firm will try to tempt him away.

  2. Yay you signed some-one.

Seems a decent enough player, was on the books at Parma, although Parma are pi$$ now, pretty much learned his trade in the lower divisions in Italy, nothing to fear for the rest i think...

  3. Must have impressed Jeffries as initially he was only over on trial with a view to a one year loan but has been given a  year contract. Seems to have scored a lot of goals in the lower leagues in Italy. Sometimes it's the "no-name" players who impress more than an expensive established player

  4. he looks no too bad..maybe chose killie to get some experience..at least he knows he will get a game with killie..looks like quite a good goalscorer and hope he does well for you..well except against the Ger's..lol...then again if he scores too many walter will try and sign him too..

  5. his name is dennis o brien.

Denis O'Brien, 48(born County Cork) is one of the world's most exciting and dynamic entrepreneurs, with successful businesses in Ireland, Portugal, the Caribbean (bumps into Dermot here no doubt) Holland, Czech Republic and Barcelona. He starts a new business every three months on average, and interests include golf properties in Portugal, other leisure sector interests, property, radio stations and telecommunications companies.

Mr O'Brien is a past Chairman of the Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Judging Panel, having previously been a recipient of the award and a Director of the US Board of Concern Worldwide. He was conferred an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by his Alma Mater, University College Dublin in November 2006 for his exceptional achievements as one of Ireland's leading businessmen and entrepreneurs.

In 1991, he established Esat Telecom in Ireland, which became the first company to compete against the former state-owned telephone company, Telecom Eireann (now eircom) on both landline and mobile. Esat was awarded the second Irish mobile license in 1995. The circumstances surrounding this award is the subject of a long running public tribunal in Ireland. The Irish taxpayer received $19m from Mr O'Brien for the mobile phone license granted to ESAT, 4 years later he sold his company for nearly $3 billion to BT. Rumours of impropriety in the awarding of that license remain unproven. Esat Digifone became a highly successful fixed line and mobile operator in Ireland. Esat was a public company quoted on the NASDAQ and the Irish Stock Exchange. Read that bit again - sold it to British Telecom for approximately $2.4 billion after a hostile-bid take over attempt. Yes $2.4billion. His share was reported to be $317million.

In 2001 he established Digicel, a Caribbean telecom venture currently continuing to extend its pan Caribbean network, which plans another flotation on the stock market.

Mr. O'Brien is the Chairman of Communicorp Group, which manages a portfolio of media and broadcasting-related companies both in Ireland and in seven European markets. He owns and operates radio stations in Ireland.

Outside of his business interests, he chaired the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Ireland. It was the first time the Summer Games were staged outside the US with teams from 160 countries and over 30,000 volunteers making the 2003 Summer Games a great success.

In addition, he is Chairman and Co-Founder of Frontline, the International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders based in Dublin. He is also Chairman of the National College of Ireland.

In September 2005, O'Brien was named Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ireland despite being a tax exile, an appointment which caused disquiet in government and financial circles because of the Bank's central role in the Irish banking system. In September 2006, he resigned from this and all other directorships in Ireland, while simultaneously moving his residence from Portugal to Malta, for taxation reasons.

The top 13 of the Sunday Times Rich List 2006 (Ireland) are repeated below. O'Brien is at number 8 with one-third less than Dermot Desmond yet comfortably more than John Magnier and JP McManus. Did we not swoon over their involvement with Manchester United and wish it was us?
