Can anyone help me out? I'm a new mom starting my own business as a PartyLite consultant in Michigan.?

I had my starter show Thursday (the 21st) and it was a disaster! I had expected at least a dozen of my friends there, because they had RSVP'ed, however I had a total of 5 people show up. Quite disappointing, especially since I didn't have ANY outside orders. I wasn't able to leave the house because my Fiance and I have been sharing a car until mine gets fixed.

SO, on to what I need help with - to get my starter kit I needed to sell $350 in products and book 6 shows. Well, I'm $83 short and still need 1 booking. Is there anyone that can help me meet these goals?

Please don't post answers that are negative toward the business - saying that it's a scam, etc. I have all the facts and I really want to do this business. One of my best friends does it as a hobby and makes a lot of extra money. Which is probably part of the reason I am having a hard time getting going - we have some of the same groups of friends.

I also sell PartyLite. I started last year and my friend and I both sold it, so I understand your situation!

  Try calling one of your friends who did not show for your party. As her to host a show to help you out. This may add to your bookings. Also, call those who did not attend and ask if they would like to help you by ordering. The catalogs are available on our websites!

Talk to your leader, I have heard of others who have not gotten enough sales at their starter show to purchase their kit, but I think PartyLite was able to work it out.

Remember, your business is only as strong as you make it... Don't have a car, go meet your neighbors, join a mom's group!!! Your customers will not come to you, you have to go to them.

Don't listen to others who say this is a scam. It is not. I am not being forced to do anything and I know exactly what I am doing. Good luck with your new business!
