  1. Try watching the weather channel.

  2. I would suggest setting your alarm to get up early, even if you don't have to get up early, and get up, take a shower, start your day, but don't go back to bed or take any naps.  Try to stay busy and occupied all day.  It'll take a few days but this should help you get on a schedule.

Around 10:30 try to get yourself relaxed, do some stretching and deep breathing exercises, put on some soft music.  I've tried those nature sounds CDs and they are really quite soothing!

  3. Unwinding is very important in getting to sleep.  If you have something bothering you when your head hits the pillow you're going to struggle.  All the warm milk in your zip code won't help then.  Clear out the cobwebs by exercising a little late in the afternoon but not so late that your heart is still beating at exercise pace when it comes time to hit the rack.  Also, don't consume any heavily caffeinated drinks in the evening.  I think clearing out your mind is going to play a big part in this, though...just a thought.  If you've taken care of unfinished business and you're still fighting your sleep...TRY to stay awake.  If you actively try to stay awake while you're laying in bed you'll find yourself waking up in the morning...refreshed.  Good luck.
