x^2+5x-6=(x+m)(x+n)

what are the values of m and n?

A.m is-6,n is -1

B.m is -3 n is -2

C.m is -1,n is 6

D.m is 3, n is 2

  1. you can factorise it straight away as that equals (x-1)(x+6). You do this as m times n equals to -6 and m+n =5.

    Therefore m is -1 and n=6 (C) Hope this helps
