  1. They could be either Chinese or Japanese, since Japanese kanji are borrowed Chinese characters.

    Chinese:

    春夏秋冬 (chūn xià qiū dōng) = spring, summer, autumn, winter

    Japanese:

    春夏秋冬 (shun ka shuu tou) = spring, summer, autumn, winter
