  1. "Je hais / déteste la violence par principe. Je la renferme dans mon esprit et n'en fais pas cas / l'ignore."

    I think the "play about it" means "ignore" or something like that: in French = "ignorer" or "ne pas faire cas" (= to attach little importance to)


  2. The sense of the English text is not very clear, but I give it a shot :

    "Je déteste par principe toute violence. Je ne fais que le contenir et l'indulger dans mes fantasmes."
