Can anyone help me with a Linksys Wireless-G router?

I'm visiting my sister on the other side of the country and she has this wireless router. My computer recognizes the wireless internet signal but she doesn't know the password. Is there a way to bypass the password and/or reset it? Thanks in advance.

If you can log in to the router, you should be able to change the passphrase/password for the secured wireless network.  To do this, open your web browser and type http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar.  If the login is still the default and hasn't been changed, it should be admin as the user and admin as the password.  Other default passwords, depending on the model may be 1234 or even blank.  If these don't get you in, just google 'default login for linksys router'.  

Once you're in, find the security settings which will be something like WPA, WPA2, or WEP.  There you will see the passphrase that is set, and should be able to retype whatever you like from there.

If the login password for the router has been changed from the default, and no one there knows what it is, you can reset the router to factory defaults by holding in a small reset button on the back of the router, but use caution when doing this.  Any configuration changes made to the router since it was bought will be reset, and may not work with your current network without being reconfigured.

u should download the linksys easy link adviser. That helped me a lot to set up a key or take it off. Or if that doesnt help, go to the linksys site and look for ur router and it should have downloads to help u.

If your sister ever set a password on it, and just doesnt remember it you would have to contact your internet provider, but if there was never a password set, try the model # of your router or your internet providers name, such as verizon, sbc, or aol, if those dont work, the best way to go is to contact your internet provider, i know these thigns are a pain in the butt
