Can anyone help me with a computer problem?

I had to use system restore last week after i downloaded adware, i thought that was causing me a problem . But now this little window keeps popping up that says Windows Installer preparing to install each time i try to open a window. Help!! How do I get rid of this?

a system restore would of put the computer the time it was for the date you choose, that is all. there are other issues on this, you can try a winsock fix. START > RUN > type in NETSH WINSOCK RESET > click OK you will see a black screen pop up then disapear (DOS screen) then restart the computer (do not shut down then restart) just restart it (start >shut down> then restart)

I hate msi installers.

What happened is that some software you installed was not correctly installed or uninstalled, what you need to do is get the application that is doing this, if you let the dialog go along for a while it will prompt you with required media (installers path), later you must reinstall the application and then unistall it.

I had the same problem with macromedia flash paper, every time i used the context menu the msi window appeared, this is because the application was invoked due an explorer extension in the contextual menu (print it with flashPaper), this means that your problematic application is invoked with every window.
