Can anyone help me with a genealogy task I am trying to complete?

i have been doing genealogy for some time. Am stuck on a few searches. Need to know the whereabouts of my greatgreat grandma after she lived with her son in Vermont. Also need to know where I can get the marriage certificate of my great grands. They lived in Vermont before coming to Wisconsin in 1856. Anyone know where?

If your gg grandma was 1/8th Iroquois, a raven-haired beauty named "Rose", you won't find her because she traveled. She worked for the circus as a knife-thrower's assistant until the night he had a little more rum than he should have to steady his nerves, and cut off a piece of her ear. She took up with my gg grandfather, Ebeneezer, who was in charge of the elephants. They lived happily together, supplementing their income from the circus by selling elephant dung to people who wanted to grow huge, prize-winning roses.

If that wasn't her, a name, birth date and spouse's name would help narrow down the possibilities. I can make up stories as fast as you can ask vague questions. Mine will be more colorful and less accurate than the truth.

People came to Wisconsin in their teens and their 80's. Some came as suckling babes not more than a month old. A few came in their 90's. Where you would find their marriage certificate depends on which state they were married in. If they were married before 1880 or so, depending on the state, there may be church records, but might not be civil ones.
