Question:

Can anyone help me with activities?

I am looking for some fun, unique, non-alcohol related activities for a high school graduation party. I am throwing a party for my sister - we are doing a candy-ish theme. We are having a huge candy bar, tons of food, an inflatable, moon bounce type twister game (that should be hilarious), and we have a caricaturist coming to draw the guests. We are also doing an "indirect" game where as they come in they have to guess how many jelly beans are in a jar - closest wins the jar. Can anyone come up with anything else that would be something fun for them to do - an activity or a game? Something that isn't too structured but is fun and easy... maybe something else we can give a prize for. Thank you!

  1. Karaoke?  Dance contest?

  2. pie eating contest.

  3. It sounds like a great party!

You can do relay races, potato sack races, three legged races, wheel barrel races( where one person holds the the other person's legs and the other person runs on their hands), etc. I'm sure that would bring them a lot of laughs and they would have fun with it.

You could get an inflatable kiddie pool, fill it with water, and have a tug war, the losing team falls in the water.  If you want to be really adventurous, fill it with jello.

You can also do badmitten, volleyball, etc.

You can have a pie eating contest, or just fill some pie tins with whipped cream and see who finishes it first, at least this way there's no risk of them choking and they're not really eating a pie.  I know I would feel safer this way.

You can do an ice cream bar.  You already have the candy for the toppings.  Get some chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream, some chocolate syrup, and caramel sauce, whipped cream and cherries. Go to the dollar store and get those tall sundae glasses and let them make their own sundaes.  They can also use the the candy for toppings.

I would also set up some chairs and umbrellas for those that are sitting out the games and just want to watch.

I hope some of these ideas help.  It sounds like an awesome party and I hope everything has a great time!

  4. Here's a quick, cute decorating idea:  Wrap shiny Christmas tree balls in clear cellophane, and tie at each end, to look like giant hard candies.  Put some around on the tables ......   This might take a little doing, but you could make a giant "Candyland" game board and the guests could be the pieces that move!  I know it's a kids' game, but it's fun when it's life-sized:)  .....  Maybe you could decorate some styrofoam rings (craft store) to look like giant lifesavers, and have a ring-toss game?
