  1. Ex-situ conservation means literally, "off-site conservation". It is the process of protecting an endangered species of plant or animal by removing part of the population from a threatened habitat and placing it in a new location, which may be a wild area or within the care of humans. While ex-situ conservation comprises some of the oldest and best known conservation methods, it also involves newer, sometimes controversial

In-situ conservation means "on-site conservation". It is the process of protecting an endangered plant or animal species in its natural habitat, either by protecting or cleaning up the habitat itself, or by defending the species from predators. The benefit to in-situ conservation is that it maintains recovering populations in the surrounding where they have developed their distinctive properties. As a last resort, ex-situ conservation may be used on some or all of the population, when in-situ conservation is too difficult, or impossible.

  2. bio diversity is important every where because it creates balanced eco systems.

for example a tree requires certain chemicals and also discards certain chemicals.

too many of one specie demands to much of the soil and exausts the soil of the chemicals it requieres and also saturates the soil with its secretions and in this way upsets the balance.

in Nature everthing and every one is welcome but something in excess is called a plague and nature responds with preditors or sickness (which are preditors at bacterial levels)

each plant and tree have insects and animals that are associated ,

with bio diversity there are a variety of insects ,with a variety of species(likebirds) who eat them ,and their preditors creating a chain of biological events .

so there is no excess of any thing in particular just a multitude of life.bio diversity

: a bio diverse forrest consisting of many different species is the best for all situations,

all plants and trees require certain chemicals and secrete others .

if there are too many of one specie ,the requiremnts are too much of the same and the soil gets exausted.

also if there is too much of the same chemical output the soil gets poluted,

and so bio diverse systems are always the healthiest

this is why we hardy ever see sickness or plagues in nature

most plagues are caused by humans, who have destroyed a link in the chain

a sign of an eco system in trouble is plagues of caterpillars

which can happen if all the kids kill all the birds with their catapults.

just think that whatever is killed ,its food is still walking around

so bio diversity aplies to the fauna as well as the flora.
