Ok, if you're asking about just regular division, its really pretty simple.  Let's take the problem: 4/2

(the / is a division sign, the problem would be read 4 divided by 2)

How many times does 2 go into 4.  If you count by 2, you would say, "2, 4" and count how many times you say that number on your fingers.  So 2, 4.  That would be be 2 times.  So 2 goes into 4, 2 times.  So 4/2 is 2.

With problems that don't fit in evenly, you get a remainder.

So take 5/2 (5 divided by 2).

You count until you hit five. So, 2,4,6, wait you passed 5, so subtract by the number you are dividing into, which in this case is 2.  So you have that 2 goes into to 5 twice, but that only adds up to 4,  so you have the remainder of 1.  Once you do it a few times, it really gets pretty simple.  Good Luck.
