  1. u will c her get very fat like she ate a golfball when u notice this then she is about a week until a mother u should seperate the male because otherwise he will mate as soon as she has givin birthand that will not be fare on the mother hope it all goes wel

  2. rodents dont carry for very long just 16-18 days if the female is nesting she is probably very close. Keep in mind you need to remove the male now or he will eat the babies :( sad but true. Also you should have her in a seclued dark area. If she becomes scared she too will eat her own babies. She just needs placed in a dark quiet room so her and her babies will have an easy birth! Hope this helps and congratulations on your new addition!!

  3. A hamster's gestation period is between 16-21 days.

If she is indeed pregnant,. I advice you to separate her mate, and leave the pregnant hamster alone.

She would give birth and raise the pups alone until they wean.

The male hamster might eat them, or even the female if she is stressed.

Don't think about what to do when the babies arrive right now...just prepare for the babies from before.

Clean out the cage very well before she gives birth, be3cause after she gives birth, you can't clean the cage for at least 2 weeks.

    Separate the daddy.

Always provide her with fresh food and water...more than you used to give them before.

Just keep the female hamster in a silent room.

    When the babies arrive,

DO NOT TOUCH them, the mother might abandon them, or even eat them alive if you touch them.

Don't make any sort of noise, don't handle the mommy until she wants to come out and play with you (of course she would love to play with you, since she wouldn't stay with the pups 24/7)

    But don't play too much.

Avoid touching any part near the nest.

Only change the food and water, and let the mum do her job herself.

When the pups open their eyes, you can touch them, move them slowly and clean the cage out.

Give them cucumber to prevent dehydration and lower the bottle so that they can reach it.

I'm sorry, I can't tell you when the babies would arrive...if you know the day when they mated, then perhaps you can make an assumption of the date (16 days after they had s*x)

If your hammy is indeed pregnant, she would be getting fatter day by day until she let the pups outside of her womb.

Any more questions, feel free to email me.

  4. u really should remove the father indeed! The mother will get big ''saddlepacks'' high on the site of her back. Some hamsters do not think lot of water and other ones drink more. What i did when my hamster delivered was that i give her a piece of cheese or egg white every day to give her proteins, otherwise she might eat a baby to get the proteins herself for the milk.
