Question:

Can anyone help me with make-up ideas for when I'm on stage?

I haven't sung on stage for a long time, but in a couple of weeks I'm singing backing for my friend's band at a pretty big venue. There's only me and him out front and I'd like to look as if I belong there!

I usually only wear really natural make-up and only occasionally go to wild with eye-shadow etc. Can anyone give me some ideas or point me to a few looks I might try out? The band plays kind of melodic indie grunge and my friend is very tall and striking and always wears black!

  1. I would suggest:

    1. Have a good matte foundation sealed with a dusting of loose powder.

    2. Invest in 1 good eyeshadow (like MAC or Max Factor or something else highly pigmented) in a bright purple or teal or whatever bright color you feel like wearing or matches your outfit. Apply a lot to your eyelid so that it's very vibrant!

    3. Apply liquid black eyeliner that's heavy on the top extending slightly past the outer corner of the eye with a little upward "flick" and thin on the bottom.

    4. Lots of black mascara

    5. A lipstick that compliments with your eyeshadow color and outfit, for example with a black outfit and turquoise eyeshadow wear a coral/nude type lipstick or If you did bright purple eyeshadow you could do a plum lip.

It's a really easy s**y rocker chick look.

  2. Its very important that you wear a good foundation to avoid shine, that is not hot! Definately make you eyes stand out and wild. This is the perfect time to show your own style and you know that everyone will be looking at you so just go for it. You can be as outrageous as you want on stage so be extreme. Glitter is always good, on eyelids and all over your body. :)

  3. well since your on stage you want make up that will excentuate our features to the audience. for example you should use a good eyeliner so that your eyes stand out and maybe lip stick to match your skintone NOT BRIGHT RED also a little blush. not to much because you will probably be sweating on stage so if you need it go light on foundation

  4. try dark purple eyeshadow and eyeliner with 2 thick coats of very black mascara for a bold look
