I left my Toshiba satellite laptop unplugged the other day, and the battery died. When I turned it on later, it starts with the Toshiba logo, then a blank screen. It won't continue to boot-up. I can't get it turn off either, unless I remove the battery. None of the keys will affect it. It just sits there. I tried charging the battery; I've turned it on with only the power cord and no battery; I've turned it on with just the battery; still, no good.

  1. 1. Remove the battery then reinsert.

    2. Connect your external power supply/charger. Do not switch on your laptop.

    3. Leave charger on until you get the green light which indicates that your battery is fully charged or nearly fully charged.. If it takes the whole day to get the green light, just do it.

    4. When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the external power supply and switch on your laptop.

    5. You should be able to boot to your windows operating system.

    6. If not, try booting in safe mode (hit F8 when starting your computer)

    7. Do a system restore.

    8. If you can't boot in safe mode, reinstall your OS.
