Marantz stereo amplifier/tuner TA110/TA150 model number is what we have. When we play our cd player or other stuff through it it makes a loud pooping and crackling noise and some times the sound goes out but stereo is still on. It doesn't do this all the time it's kind of random. We have new speakers that work on everything else so it's not them. The cd player works too it does this with anything we plug in to it. Any help fixing it would be nice my brothers pretty good at fixing things but he needs help on this one.

  1. I think it's just dirt and moisture in various k***s. Buy something like WD40 and spray inside the k***s like the volume control (with the equipment switched off), then turn the k***s again and again for a number of times. Wipe off the excess fluid. The noises will go when you start the equpment! Tell your brother about this and he'll understand how and what to do.

Another thing that comes to mind is a loose connection since sometimes the sound totally goes off. This is something that has to be worked out step by step in the circuit and so it's difficult to pinpoint exactly without directly testing the circuit board.
