Can anyone help me with problems of energy loss in transport of electricity?

im doing my science and i can not find any information about what problems are there of energy loss in transport of electricity. ??? if anyone gets that help me !!! please!!

  1. energy loss in transport of the electricity is that ---  there is resistnce in electricity carring wires (alluminium in INDIA usually) to overcome this resistance some of the energy expenced & there is loss of energy. It can be minimised by using wires having low resistnce but there is problem that these wires are costly & wires may be stolen

The wires used for electrical power transmission have some resistance; therefore, the power lost is proportional to the square of the current flowing through them (p = i**2  x r).  For this reason, it is better to transmit power at  high voltage and low current, and then step the voltage down to the required level with a transformer near the point of use.  The power loss in transmission relationship and ease of changing voltage level with a transformer is an important reason for using alternating current rather than direct current for power transmission.
