  1. teaching techniqurs you are familiar with

    ortion gillingham (reading)

    wilson reading

    ABA (autism)


  2. Have you worked with children before? What age...grade?

    Have you worked with special needs children?

    What type of behavior or class management plan will you implement?

    Have you observed or led an IEP meeting before?

    How will you communicate with parents?

    What was the biggest challenge you had when dealing with a parent? A student? How was the situation resolved?

    What do you want to improve upon as a teacher?

    What afterschool committees would you join?

    Would you be willing to teach inclusion?

    Interviewer will likely say "Do you have any questions for me?"

    Is the job actually for a teaching position or for an aide's position?

  4. Here are some scenario questions from a recent set of interviews that I was involved in.

    A parent tells you that their child demonstrates more and higher skills at home then you report to have seen at school, how do you handle this situation?

    A parent tells you that they know another student is recieving services at home provided by the school district and they want they same services, what is your response?

    How do you train, communicate and manage instructional assistants?

    What is your classroom management style/ system?

    You ask Jonny to get his math book and come work with you and Jonny says "no", what do you do?

    You are teaching a math concept in your student, says this is stupid. I will never have to use this in the real world. How do you respond?

    How do you want your students to view you?

    Is it important to motivate students to participate in class?

    If yes how do you take into account student interests and motivation?
