ever since i was young i have always had a passion for swimming. i would do squad and many comps an always came out well. when i got to high school i stopped swimming. i have recently in the last 6 months joined my schools swim team and am enjoying it heaps. i have even knocked 4 seconds off my pb in the last 4 weeks!! as the olympics are now showing it is giving me more motivation. i would like to swim for australia in the 2012 olympics! i was wondering if anyone could give me tips or anything that could help me along my journey. or if anyone knows of a good coach as i will be having to do morning and afternnon and night training sessions. thank you so much for your help.

oh and i am now 15 years old so i will 19 when the next olympics come around.

  1. I don't have a direct answer for your question, but when I read this question, I felt that I should mention that Jason Lezak, the swimmer who practically won the 200m freestyle relay, is self-trained.

I'm actually in a situation similar to yours; I'm only 13 (soon 14), but I've had, like you, a passion for swimming ever since I was small. (: And I'm trying to find a personal swimming instructor... >< But I think you should head to your local swim club (if there is one? :O Hopefully there is!), and talk to the coach and see if he/she knows any instructors! (:

    Good luck!!

  2. Just use what you just said in your question as motivation. Just keep thinking of the olympics...

  3. Olympics isn't a simple high school sport game... unless your willing to do 10 hours a day of swim training, then your chances are slim, but you can try for 2016.
