Can anyone help....my tv screen has gone blank but there is still sound!?

Can anyone please help??? I have a Sony Trinitron KV-21X5U and although i still have perfect sound quality there is no picture(the screen is blank) the standby indicator light just keeps flashing on and off and whatever i try i can't get the picture back.Can anyone tell me what to do please.

check the back, see if all of the 3 cables are connected, I think the audio is still plugged in but the others arent

Stupid SONY, talk to technical support, this is the exact same thing what happened to our TV but instead it was Samsung. The TV is just black screen like it seems its turned off but its weird because theres sound thats still coming. You have a warranty? One of Samsungs people had to come to our house physically and fix it, but then a week later same thing would happen. So we demanded them to bring us a new TV which they did. I hear Sony has better customer service so I think you can do the same. But I am not sure if you alone can fix it without a technical support representative giving you the insight.

possible bad connections on vertical IC or bad picture tube but those are two of many posibilities that could cause the problem
