Question:

Can anyone help these girls??

I know five teenage girls who are trying to host a concert in New York City to benefit the American Diabetes Association. They call the event "Finding A Cure One Song At A Time" (FACOSAAT). The venue they hope to book costs $45,000, but they currently only have $583 in donations. Other costs, such as performers, will also be outrageous. They are constantly being turned down by companies that have been asked to sponsor them and haven't gotten responses from any major talk shows or radio shows. They seriously need help to make their dream come true. For more information, please visit http://www.myspace.com/one_song_at_a_time

Can someone give me some names of generous companies that might be willing to sponsor them?

  1. write a letter to cvs pharmacy explaining your situation. CVS is know to donate to good causes so you may appeal to them to help you out. Also try local bands that are willing to do a performance for free. I would also try contacting Oprah she seems to get things done. I wish you guys all the luck and you guys are doing a wonderful thing.

  2. It is really hard to get companies to help sponsor any sort of event organized by teenagers. Knowing from experience, but if you want companies to help to fund a large scale event, it would be wise to get in touch with someone who may have lots of connections. Also, when asking a company, try to show them EVERYTHING, you plan to do for the concert and what is your goals. Show a timetable of some sort. Show proof that this event is not there to swindle people. Advertise, make it known.

    Good luck!

  3. This seems like a crazy idea to me - they want to spend $50,000 to raise money for a good cause?

I think that they would be better off donating the $583 to the American Diabetes Association.
