I have a 4 x 9 envelope and was wondering if I may need extra postage on it. I don't think so, but I'd like to see what the general consesus is.

Thanks for your help!

  1. It really depends on weight.  Most of the time it would only be an extra .17 cents, if it is about the weight of a normal size letter.  Otherwise you go into price per oz which is more.  You can check http://pe.usps.com/text/dmm100/postage.h... to help guide you on the approximate the postage or you can calculate exact postage from here: http://www.usps.com/tools/calculateposta...

On another note if your envelope or package weighs more than 10 oz will be returned to you if you just put stamps on the as per the USPS new policy unless it is taken directly to the post office.

  2. Anything bigger than regular envelope is extra. If they can find anything extra to charge for the do.

  3. No u will not. Only overly large envelopes need extra postage. The weight of one standard envelope with 8 pcs of paper requires the standard one stamp...u can calculate all mail based on that scale.
