Can anyone help with a CF Card problem.?

I recently bought a Canon Rebl XTi. Everything has worked fine until now. I think I edited photos while the memory card was in, which made the pictures corrupted data. The camera wasn't working right, so I decided to just reformat. Now the number of shots left always says 9999, and sometimes the pictures will just suddenly delete in entirety. Did the reformating mess it up? HOw can I fix this problem? The card is a 4GB DigitalFilm. It is really new.

  1. Formatting in Camera is not as thorough as formatting through your PC.

    Load the card into a USB Card Reader and when Windows finds the Card Format it like you would any other drive.

    Not as a Quick Format but full.

    Sandisk have told me this way you are guaranteed to clean out any unwanted files remaining on the card.
