Can anyone help me solve this problem?

1.) 3(x+4)=3x+6

  1. First you multiply the 3 by both things in parenthesis.

            3x+12=3x+6

    Then you put the variables on one side and the numbers on the other.

            3x+12=3x+6

           -3x       +3x

           12=6x+6

          - 6          -6

           6=6x

    Then divide the variable by the number in front of it

           6=6x divided by 6 is: x=1

    So x equals 1!

    3x+12=3x+6

        -12      -12

    3x=3x-6

    divide both sides by 3x

    x=   -6
