Can anyone identify a snake for me please.

This snake was found at my brothers house in Birmingham UK

Are you in the UK and have you found this in the wild? It could be an adder. If this is the case let it go as it is a protected species and also is the only venomous snake in the UK - so you wouldnt want to get a bite

sounds like a kingsnake, but if you found it in the wild then its best u leave it alone as all reptiles in the u.k are protected

Its not a Grass snake or an adder. If you can get a pic you could email it to a zoo as it sounds like an escaped pet. You may also want to contact the rspca then they can catch it. If its not native it will probably die in the winter. Proteus reptile trust is based in birmingham they might be able to help id it http://www.proteus.uk.net/
