Can anyone identify an animal that looks like a racoon w/o a mask? Central Fla?

An animal attacked my dogs the other day in my yard that was reddish brown, like a racoon, but not as big, hands like a racoon, no mask or rings on tail, skimpy furry tail, almost like a cat. It looked 1/2 cat - 1/2 racoon. Are the two breeding?

it sounds like a red panda but i dont think thats possible.lol. im guessing its not a catcoon or a raccat watever you wanna call it

sounds like a badger, or maybe a wolverine, but wolverines are uncommon in FL, and I think raccoons and cat's can breed so it could be possible too, but most likely it was a badger.

It sounds like a Ring Tailed cat except that you say it didnt have rings on its tail.... The ring tailed cats are here in south texas .. they are smaller than a  racoon, cat like but have a ringed tail I believe... my dog killed one about 40 years ago..
