Question:

Can anyone identify the plant/stalk at . . .?

It's about 8" long and just recently appeared in the middle of other shrubbery. Lots of grubs etc crawling all over it.

  2. looks like a poisonous mushroom so dont eat it.

  3. looks like some sort of fungi in the mushroom family..I wouldnt eat it though..

  4. It's a fungus, I have seen them in several gardens in Australia & also in my sister-in-laws lawn.

  5. There amidst your nandina and what appear to be vinca is a mushroom or toadstool. This would indicate your bed is very well watered and staying consistently moist. It's harmless to your other plants, but don't eat it. But I doubt you need to be told that. =)
