I went to a Protestant Church in Stuttgart Germany and these markings were on the outside church walls. The name of the Church was StillesKirche.

They look like Runes .....The church has the year 1653 etched into the outside walls as well.

any ideas ?

  1. Err , Kinda Looks Like A Symbol for Something back in the old days or a diffrent language?

  2. the date is most likely when the Church or the cornerstone was laid as for the marks it could very possible be masons

strangely enough they started out as yes you guessed it masons

a group of workers got together in basically a union and since then its grown and now anybody can be a mason despite your job

  3. I have no idea i'm sorry.

  4. It might be the mark of the stone mason who did it.
