Can anyone identify this (UK) bug ........?

Question

This bug has been bugging me 'cos it won't die. It has been lying here for four days now with regular squirtings of fly killer and it is still moving its legs.

Is it resposible for the little offspring shown. These offspring appear about 80 at a time and die almost immediately.

Do they live in the woodwork? or what? any suggestions please
