I bought a mixed wild flower seed packet a few months ago, most of the flowers died because of the unpredictable weather here, but one survived really well but i can't figure out what it is! It is really doing my head in... any ideas? Image is here :

  1. Looks like stinging nettle family

  2. Looks like Poison Ivy!@!

    Just kidding. Not sure.

  3. Looks like coleus. Not very variegated, but coleus.

Edit. Nope. Something else. Looks like it might be a tree seedling. What trees do you have near to you?

Let it grow for a while. And let me know when you find out what it is. This looks so familiar!

Edit 2: Before dozing off to sleep last night I realised that it could be Dahlia. Did some googling this morning and it does look like it. I go with jbizoe.

Flowering plants can be difficult to identify before they flower, so nurture this one until you get the proof!

  4. It looks like a Dahlia to me.  There are many different types of Dahlia's but they all get really big beautiful flowers on them.  Dahlias are not cold hardy but you can dig them up every year and replant them next season.

I don't know why it would be in your wildflower seed pack though.  Its definetly not a wildflower!
