  1. It is great I live about 100 mi north and I can go skinny dipping most days.

  2. The weather in that general area is pretty variable. In the winter it usually sees a few days below zero, and temps over 100 in the summer are not uncommon. But generally it stays between 20 and 55 most of the winter and between 70 and 90 most of the summer. It's rare there is enough snow for any serious winter sports, but a few days with enough snow to sled or build snowmen is not uncommon. Major thunderstorms happen in the Ozarks quite a bit, especially in the spring and summer. All-in-all, the weather is typical for most of the Midwest.

Birch Tree sits on the edge of Mark Twain National Forest. If you are into nature, it can be a fantastic spot. Wildflowers, trees, birds... if you look at a satellite image like on Google Maps, the largest green spot you see when zoomed out to view the contiguous US is the area Birch Tree sits next to.

Most of the people probably go to Mountain View or Willow Springs for groceries and some entertainment. They aren't large towns, but after all it is the Ozarks. West Plains is not much further off and is a little larger, somewhere over 10,000 people I think. It would be the main shopping and entertainment for the general area.

If you like things like trees, conoes, fishing, camping, or caves, you'll love the area. If you like things like shopping malls, sports arenas, and other highly urban things... not so much.

The general "feeling" of the area is Ozarks... it can take a little getting used to, but the people can be great once you accept each other.
