I saw them when I was in Lima in December.

The trees have braches that form stars is viewed from above, or below.

  1. Pino (s)

  2. They are simply called pinos. This is the only kind of pine tree in Peru and they are also called "pinos Diablo fuerte" (strong devil pine) in the jungle (Oxapampa). I remember seeing them in Miraflores, and if you see closely, these pine trees grow upwards (the branches) and not downwards. They are also a family of the Araucarias of Chile.

  3. Pinos, pine trees

  4. they look like a norfolk pine from hawaii.  or as my  mom called it, a hawaiian Christmas tree.

it is a pine tree indeed.  i am sure peru has it's own specific name for it tho.

  5. Pinos from Peru, branches are upwards that is how you tell they are Peruvian Pinos.
