  1. Capt. Yallahs, a privateer who frequented the area in the 1670s. Or it could simply come from the word 'yalos' meaning frost, because the cliffs in that area have been thought to give an appearance of frost.


  2. Yallahs, one of the major towns in St Thomas, is located in Jamaica's Blue Mountains.

    It's not certain how the town was named, but it's likely that it came from Yallahs, a Dutch captain and pirate who captured British log-cutters for the Spanish government in the late1600's.

    Another possibility is that Yallahs received it's name from a Spanish cattle ranch called “Hato de Ayala.”
