A scientist or engineer who has ideas of using water as the next cleanest fuel as it will emit oxygen in the atmosphere and recycle back as water after burning the hydrogen part as fuel in running engines .I am interested on this topic to know the progress of man's achievment in this alternate supply of water as a fuel as 2 third of the earth's crust is made up of water .

  1. I hope that never happens though... have you seen the price of bottled water... can you imagine what that would do the the price of water?

  2. Firstly I will answer campbells question

watch this and eat your words

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzJZJjo9M...

I am building a hydrogen generator for my (car (nearly completed now)

I tested it out for the first time a couple of days ago and produced 1 litre of Hydrogen and Oxygen in about 2 minutes.

Draining about 7amps from my battery. (less than the headlights)

I corked the bottle and took it into the garden, lit the gas.

It sounded like a shotgun and fired the bottle down the garden

to learn how to build one go on You tube and type in Hydrogen

There is a company called SAVEFUEL selling them commercially in the States

I am not trying to advertise for these people as I live in the UK anyway

    Just answer your question

When I have milage increase results I will post them on Q&A

  4. Are you planning to use water as fuel for your stove? Space heater? BBQ? Steam engine? Any other thing where you can actually SEE the flame the fuel makes? No, of course not. Because any idiot knows water doesn't burn. But those same idiots seem unaware that the gasoline IS BURNING inside the engine where you cannot see it. So before you make a car run on water, you show me how you will make water burn!

Oh, you want to use electricity to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen? It is easy to calculate how much electricity you need to make one mole of hydrogen gas, and how much energy you can get from burning one mole of hydrogen. And you will find that it takes more energy to make the hydrogen that you get by burning it! And if you don't know what a mole is then you don't know $#!+ and have no business trying to make a new kind of car.

  6. if you ever find him, i'd like to meet him too.

    good luck!

  7. Absolutely no one.  Water is not a fuel.  Electrolysis of water is a method of storing EMF or electrical energy as chemical energy.  Nothing more.

  8. At this time an engine fueled by water isn't practical, feasible or producible on a large scale.

There have been a few attempts at this type of engine over the years -- a number occurring in the 1940s to 60s.  This in part also lead to the work that has been done in "cold fusion" research as well.

What is interesting is that David Mamet wrote a great short story / play about this topic called "The Water Engine" that was absolutely gripping.  Great read!

  9. No--and neither can anyone else.  The cycle you describe is possible.  But you have to put more energy in to drie the cycle than you get out of it--so there cannot be any left over to power the engine.

Basic chemistry and physics--specifically, the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

  10. Rudolph Steiner, the genius of water ,invented the hydrogen car almost a century ago ,

He was assassinated for his brilliance ,a car running on water could not be tolerated at the birth of the petrol engine .

And even to talk about it can make you an enemy of the state.

considering which forces have been behind the government.

But don`t worry the design is ready for when they can figure out how to charge for water .
