  1. the jersey devil

    mothman

    chupacabra

    sucubi

    incubi

    banshee

    harpies

    chimera

    manticore

    minotaur

    djinn

    dragons of all sorts

    just to name a few.

  2. Demon names should not be used or spoken unless you have one you are tracking or fighting. To say the name of a demon gives it power. That said...

    Banshee---Screaming Spirit

    Beelzebub---Devil

    Beetlegeuse---Don't say it 3 times.

    Bloody Mary---Ghost legend

    Cyclops---One eyed monster

  3. Incubi; demons that had s*x with females in their sleep.

Succubi; demons that had s*x with males (usually  celibate priests) in their sleep.

The Silkie; a Scottish legend; a part seal, part mermaid that stole sailors away to its undersea lair.

The Djinn; evil demons corked up in bottles that, if set free, would cause havoc in the world.

The Banshee; Irish legend of a spirit that howled loudly, signalling that someone in the house was about to die.

  4. Angra Mainyu and Loki:

"In the originally Persian religion of Zoroastrianism, the world is a battle ground between the God, Ahura Mazda (also called Ormazd), and the Evil Spirit, Angra Mainyu (also called Ahriman). The final resolution of the struggle between good and evil was supposed to occur on a day of Judgement, in which all beings that have lived will be led across a bridge of fire, and those who are evil will be cast down forever. In Iranian belief, angels and saints are beings sent to help us achieve the path towards goodness."

I have read that Zoroastrianism is the basis of allot of "Judaeo-Christian" folklore and many of the sects and religions that came after it. I must make a note that Zoroastrianism has and the later Judaeo/Christian/Muslim mythology has nothing to do with the Pagan mythology. For example, there is no "Satan" per say in Greek or Roman religions. Same goes for the Norse and Celtic.

Even Loki (who's often considered 'evil'), has many stories where he is helpful to the gods. I think they might even be on story where he saved the gods, unsure I'd have check. When the final battle in Norse mythology happens (known as Ragnarök); Loki is said to kill Odin (the All-Father).

  5. What folklore exactly? If any will do, there's Baba Yaga, the evil witch of the Russian folklore, who would catch little kids and cook them.

Also there is Zmey Gorynych (literally: the Snake of the Mountains), an evil-dragon sort of creature.
