tell me what Haplogroup this is? I have a cousin that I asked to send in her DNA so I could get my paternal grandmother's. We emailed each other constantly and about a 3 weeks ago I was stunned to get an email from another cousin that she had died.

In putting her info in Ancestry.Com it did tell me she is in the Revised Cambridge Reference Sequence.

  1. This is what their website says about the subject:

    haplogroup:

Population groups that share common Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs). Haplogroups are useful for defining populations, but have limited application in genealogy research. Since SMGF is mainly concerned with the application of DNA testing in genealogy, we do not display haplogroups along with haplotypes.

    haplotype:

A set of Y chromosome DNA results or mitochondrial DNA results.

  2. It said I used up my searches for the day, so I will check later,  ok?

Here's your matches.  You should be in there somewhere:

    -----------------

These might be closer, or might not because it might just be the ones  that the company didn't test for 00309.1 and 00309.2; or maybe they were different.

Alot of H's seem to match.    Here's yours:

    16311C

    16519C

    00263G

    00315.1C

Also 00309.1 and 00309.2 are missing, but I don't know if they didn't test it, or if the DNA is missing it.
