  1. No, I can't think of a good argument against him. I'd pick him as AL-CY.

  2. He will win it but if I had to choose another pitcher it would be Roy Halladay.

  3. He should win it, although some have noted that Frankie Rodriguez of the Angels is going to set the single season saves record and may be worthy of Cy Young consideration.  Lee deserves it more for his 20+ wins, his solid ERA and his complete games.

  4. possibly tim linchecum of the Giants, however i see Cliff Lee winning. linchecum may be really great, but i think he still has one or two years before his prime

  5. no way man, its his award

  6. Umm yeah. How about Dice-K. He is going to win over 20 and he is on a winning team.

  7. I can only think of two. Francisco Rodriguez has a chance I'd say only if he breaks the all time save record. My other choice would probably be Roy Halladay.

  8. In the AL? No. However, his former teammate is stealing quite a bit of his thunder with the Brewers right now, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him walk away with the NL Cy Young...very unusual year for pitchers indeed.

  9. Lee will most likely win however if I had a vote it would be for Halladay

    Lee:20-2, 2.32, 149K, 194.1IP,4 CG, 2 SO

    Halladay:17-9,2.69, 178K, 211.0IP, 8 CG, 2 SO

Halladay also has a better WHIP and BAA even after Lee's shutout tonight

Halladay's record isn't his fault I checked his game log and all of these games should be wins they aren't due to the jays offense

    7.0 IP, 3 ER :L

    9.0 IP, 4 ER :L

    8.2 IP, 1 ER: L

7.0 IP ,0 ER: ND (he took a line drive of the temple and still made his next start)

    8.0 IP, 3 ER:L

    6.2 IP, 1 ER:L

change all of those to wins and his record becomes 23-4

after all of that Lee only beats Halladay in one area and that's ERA 2.32-2.69 a difference of 0.37

To be fair I looked at Lee's game log and he has 4 ND's that should be wins making his record 24-2

however I would still give Halladay the CY as he would have Lee beat in all areas except for W-L and ERA

  10. Best for the Cy Young this year. I strongly beleive that its his award and he can start buying the trophy polish already.

I have heard of Dice K talk, but its just fizzle.

Cliff Lee wins this season and Im really happy for him.

  11. the only other ones to be in serious contention should be roy halladay and Fransisco Rodriguez.

*A note to The skeleton King: You said it yourself, Dice-k is on a winning team.  He gets way more run support than cliff lee (or roy halladay for that matter).  And cliff lee has won 30% of his team's wins.

  12. If you HAD to give it to someone other than Lee, then I think Halladay should get it.  He has more complete games than any AL pitcher and his stats are pretty similar to Lee's.  Plus, he plays in the toughest division in baseball.

No way K-rod should get it.  He only pitches an inning a game and usually only with the lead.  Other closers could have as many saves as him if given the opportunity.

  13. I think Cliff Lee will win the Cy Young award because as of right now he has 20 of the Indians 66 wins.  Dice K will be the biggest threat to him.
